Senior citizens enjoying each other's company

Established in 1979, the East Harlem Council for Human Services, Inc. Senior Nutrition Program provides recreational, supportive services and over 190 hot meals each weekday in two senior citizen centers: Casabe Senior Center and Schomberg Plaza Senior Center.

With catered meals provided to other agencies funded through the NYC Department for the Aging to Presbyterian Senior Services’ sites at Harlem Senior Center, 18 Mount Morris Park West (at 124th Street) and King Towers (50 Lenox Avenue).

Services provided:

Virtual Zumba w/ Beckie Shepard 
  • Wednesdays and Fridays 11:30am-12-pm
    • Clients sign up for class and will be provided a link through their email.
Wellness Calls
  • Checking up on clients and updating information (especially their telephone and emergency contact numbers, email, and residences).

Placing appointments for vaccinations. 

We will again begin to mail out PPE masks to clients’ residences. 

We are NYC Food enrollees for boxed food deliveries to home-bound clients.
