about us
Since 1983, Boriken has operated School Based Health Centers that offer medical and mental health services in three elementary/middle schools (PS 7, PS 112, & PS 155). These health centers offer a full array of primary care services, immunization, acute care services, first aid and medication administration. The goal is to ensure children have access to care and can be treated in school minimizing school absenteeism. They are not designed to substitute a child’s regular primary care provider merely ensure access. No family is ever charged for the services received at the school health program. The Boriken Neighborhood Health Center serves as a backup facility when school health centers are closed.
