Our Mission
Since 1969 we have been offering an all-day fully bilingual head start program- affectionately known as “La Escuelita.” Our mission is to offer bilingual high quality, comprehensive, community-based early childhood education, health, and human services to the community of East Harlem. Our goal is to provide an educational foundation for our children that will allow them to succeed in school and in all areas of their lives after they leave us healthy in body, mind, and spirit. Working together with the families in the educational process and transforming them into advocates is one of our goals. Parents are provided with tools to develop their own skills to explore and achieve their own dreams.
We provide high-quality education for 3-4-year-olds in our 3-K and Pre-K programs, while also connecting families with the resources they need to grow and thrive.
With the guidance of our dedicated professional staff, families achieve their goals, celebrate their cultures, and build brighter futures together. At Bilingual Head Start, we proudly welcome diversity and honor the traditions of every family we serve.
